A fleet of 80 Golden Dragon electric buses has officially commenced operations in Sweden.
The buses feature a lightweight body structure paired with an efficient electric drive system. This configuration improves overall energy use, meets environmental regulations in Scandinavia, and helps reduce long-term operating costs.

Ahead of the launch, Lasse Anderson, Chairman of Eurobus Nordic, Golden Dragon’s main partner in Northern Europe, led a delegation of end-users on a visit to the company’s new Longhai production facility for a factory inspection and final vehicle acceptance.
Anderson highlighted the longstanding collaboration between Eurobus Nordic and Golden Dragon, noting that the partnership has focused on adapting electric bus technology to the Nordic climate. Golden Dragon has previously delivered multiple batches of electric buses across Scandinavia, including Norway and Sweden, where their vehicles have demonstrated stable operational performance. The latest batch of 80 units will primarily operate in Sweden, strengthening Golden Dragon’s presence in the region and contributing to the expansion of low-emission public transport.
To ensure reliable operation in sub-zero conditions, engineers from both companies developed a ‘polar-cold package.’ This system combines high-capacity traction batteries, intelligent thermal management, heat pumps, and auxiliary diesel heaters to maintain consistent range and passenger comfort in temperatures below -20°C. In addition, Golden Dragon provides specialised training for drivers and operators to maintain vehicle performance under winter conditions.
A Golden Dragon spokesperson said:Region-specific customisation is at the core of our strategy. For each market, we carefully consider climate conditions, regulatory requirements, and real-world operational needs to deliver differentiated, fully adapted solutions. The successful deployment of this Swedish order is a testament to our strong technical synergy and shared market insight.
During the Longhai plant visit, Anderson and the delegation observed automated production lines and intelligent inspection equipment.
Eurobus Nordic and Golden Dragon plan to expand their collaboration, including the development of Nordic-specific electric buses for inter-city and tourist services. Anderson stated that growing European demand for electric buses supports ongoing investment and collaboration in the region.
Lasse Anderson, Chairman of Eurobus Nordic said:The technological prowess of the new plant is impressive. It reflects Golden Dragon's relentless pursuit of superior quality and gives us full confidence in our future collaboration.
With Europe accelerating its carbon neutrality goals, demand for electric buses continues to rise. We now possess top-tier products, proven operational experience, and a close partnership, laying a solid foundation for sustained growth across Scandinavia.
