Pace Suburban Bus has unveiled its brand-new battery-electric Gillig bus.
The bus, which is the company’s first, has now begun operation along Route 381 95th street, offering services within Chicago’s southwestern suburbs including Evergreen Park, Oak Lawn, Chicago Ridge, Bridgeview, Hickory Hills and Palos Hills, as well as including connections between the CTA Red Line and Moraine Valley College.

Already, 22 more electric buses are on order thanks to federal funding. We thank you, Senator Durbin, and the Illinois delegation for your support in this endeavor.
With the introduction of its new bus, Pace has begun its initiative to replace its fleet of more than 700 buses to zero-emission vehicles by the end of 2040.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by various guest speakers including U.S. Senator Dick Durbin, Illinois State Senator Bill Cunningham, RTA Board Member Michael Lewis, Pace Chairman Rick Kwasneski and Pace Executive Director Melinda Metzger.
