Arriva Netherlands has announced the purchase of a large number of new Yutong and Irizar electric buses, many of which are destined for operation within the East Brabant region over the course of the next twelve years.
The operator has stated that although part of the current bus fleet will remain in use; the purchase of 128 and 39 Yutong and Irizar electric buses will allow it to meet all current provisions set by the responsible transport authority Province of North Brabant’s Program of Requirements.

All vehicles are intended to be utilised in Arriva Netherland’s fleet once it begins providing bus transport in the region starting in December 2026.
Jan Pieter Been, Regional Director at Arriva, said:With these buses, we will provide high-frequency urban transport.
In Tilburg, we will deploy 18-meter-long articulated buses, and in Den Bosch, with its many narrow streets in the historic city center, we will deploy 12-meter-long buses.
In total, forty-four 13- and 15-metre Yutong buses have been ordered for use on the Bravodirect lines, whilst forty low-entry 12-metre Yutong buses have been ordered for regional transport. These will be absorbed into the current fleet of 83 existing electric VDL and Volvo buses from the current concession, completing Arriva Netherland’s fully-electric bus fleet.
Additionally, the operator has stated intentions to purchase 32 new 6-metre Mercedes-Benz Sprinters for local bus service in East Brabant.
