MG officially made its Busworld debut last week, launching its new commercial vehicle brand, MG COMMERCIAL, as well as its first all-electric city bus, the iEV12, and its first all-electric city bus chassis, the B12E.

Presenting itself under the theme ‘Find You More’; MG Commercial’s European debut saw the company position itself as a dedicated brand for medium- and large-sized buses, with a focus on premium new energy commercial vehicles.

MG COMMERCIAL’s all-electric city bus, the iEV12, and its all-electric city bus chassis, the B12E, have been purpose-built for the premium public transport sector and utilise its next-generation electric drive platform, featuring modular battery systems, intelligent architecture and integrated connectivity management.

With fully automatic LED Headlights; the MG iEV12 is built upon MG’s B12E low-floor citybus chassis and features Cell-to-Pack traction battery technology, as well as newly-developed MG BEA1 Electric-Architecture.

The vehicle comes equipped with a number of MG CITYGUARD Safety System features, including front collision warnings, lane departure warnings, blind spot detection, reverse-assistance and 360 degree panoramic view cameras.

Charging for the vehicle is handled via Dual CCS2 charging ports located above the front wheels with a maximum charging support of 500A.

The B12E features a set of newly-developed LFP battery cells and offers a system energy density of >160 Wh/kg.
