SAFRA New Mobility has outlined its updated zero-emission strategy at the Busworld trade fair in Brussels. The company, which has been active in hydrogen bus development since 2015, is widening its portfolio to include electric minibuses and vans.

The move reflects the increasing demand for low-carbon transport solutions across public transport, school services, and local mobility networks.

The European Union has set a requirement that all new city buses sold from 2035 must be zero-emission. SAFRA New Mobility’s new approach comes in response to this regulatory backdrop, supported by its new shareholder Wanrun Mining and partnerships with Chinese manufacturers.

Through these collaborations, the company aims to offer a broader line-up of vehicles, from 12-metre urban buses to smaller vehicles for school and tourism services. SAFRA New Mobility states that the industrial ties will allow it to deliver vehicles with shorter lead times and at competitive cost levels, while maintaining established quality standards.

At Busworld 2025, SAFRA New Mobility is showcasing three vehicles that represent its revised range:

  • HYCITY: a 12-metre hydrogen bus, capable of carrying up to 96 passengers with a range of up to 500 km. An all-electric version, equipped with a 450 kW motor and a 420 kWh LFP battery, is expected to be available at the end of 2025, offering 350 km range and 83-seat capacity.
  • INYCIA: a 6-metre electric minibus developed with Chinese partners. It uses a 220 kW motor and a 128 kWh LFP battery, providing a range of 290 km and space for 28 passengers. Orders are open, with first deliveries scheduled for the first half of 2026.
  • EVANYA: a 6-metre electric van designed for school, tourism and local routes. Powered by a 150 kW motor and a 170 kWh LFP battery, it has a 300 km range and offers 22 seats. It is also expected to reach customers from the first half of 2026.
Vincent Lemaire, Director of SAFRA New Mobility said:

We are proud to take advantage of Busworld to unveil our new zero-emission range strategy. More than just a series of models, it is a true industrial vision that we share: to offer local authorities and organising authorities vehicles adapted to a variety of uses, both in cities and rural areas. This strategy is the result of the synergies we are developing with our Asian partners, opening up new technological and industrial perspectives.

With the backing of Wanrun Mining, SAFRA New Mobility intends to strengthen its position in the European passenger transport market. The company’s stated goal is to provide a set of zero-emission solutions adapted to varied regional needs, supporting the transition to cleaner transport systems.
