Scania has launched its brand-new high-floor battery electric vehicle (BEV) platform during a press conference at Busworld Europe in Brussels.
The new BEV platform is set to be utilised in both urban and travel situations, and offers a range of up to 600km, as well as luggage capacities near that found on traditional combustion-powered coaches.

The product aims to provide a solution for medium-distance inter-city traffic and airport shuttle services whilst accommodating the needs of shorter, inter-city operations.
Aiming to offer adaptability when it comes to power; the platform’s e-machine output can provide up to 330kw, whilst the installed energy can reach up to 534 kWh (480 kWh of available energy). Charging capacity on the platform can reach 325 kW (500A).

We believe that the various features offered by this new platform will address coach and bus operators’ concerns about combining zero-emission operations with the needs of urban and travel assignments, making it an ideal solution for the electrification of this growing market in people transport.

Scania also showcased the latest generation of both its new Euro 7 prepared Super Powertrain, which aims to provide fuel savings of up to 8%, and its new Plug-In Hybrid Powertrain, which offers a range of up to 80km and offers a CO2 reduction of up to 40%.
In addition; the company has used its stand at Busworld to showcase the Scania Caetano e.Levante HF BEV, which offers a range of up to 600km, and the Scania Irizar i3 LE BEV, which offers a range of up to 550km.
