ZF has premiered a slew of new driveline, chassis, safety and digital solutions at Busworld 2025.
Product highlights include the company’s latest generation of bus & coach axles, such as the A134 axle, which offers improved recuperation capacity and reduced weight, and the AV134 portal axle, which provides up to 20% higher torque capacity and enables an energy reduction of over 4% when compared to the previous generation. The SOP is planned for 2027.
The company also showcased updated performance data for its electric drives; with the CeTrax 2 dual now achieving an efficiency rate of at least 94.5%, and its latest electric portal axle, the AxTrax 2 LF, generating 20% in energy savings when compared to its predecessor whilst also supporting 6×4 configurations as well as 6×2.
Other new products on display include a newly developed Air Supply Unit with an associated oil-free e-comp Scroll compressor.
ZF has also taken the opportunity to launch its new Software Update Management System (SUMS) Suite, which allows bus and coach OEMs to meet regulatory requirements for both vehicle software updates and security.
Finally, the company has launched its new Advanced Driver Distraction Warning system, which aims to monitor driver behaviour and detect distraction, fatigue or other unsafe actions, and the Event Data Recorder, which looks to provide vital crash-related vehicle data in order to support accident investigations and safety analysis.
