Camira is set to unveil the transport industry’s very first interior fabrics made entirely from recycled marine plastic waste at this year’s Busworld Expo in October.

Held from 4-9 October 2025; Busworld will see Camira showcase its new SEAQUAL Collection at Stand 420 in Hall 4, where the fabric company will provide what it states will be an ‘immersive experience that brings the urgent issue of marine plastic pollution to the heart of the event’.

The fabric is an industry-first

Each metre of the SEAQUAL Collection fabric contains the equivalent of up to 35 plastic bottles, with Camria stating that a fully upholstered coach diverting more than 2,400 bottles from marine ecosystems.

The Collection was developed in collaboration with the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE, which seeks to transform marine waste into textile solutions. The collection, which utilises Camira’s Eco FR technology, features two flat-woven fabrics named Oceanic and Quest.

Ciara Crossan, Camira’s Head of Creative – Transport said:

Busworld is the perfect opportunity for us to showcase how we’re transforming one of the world’s most resilient waste materials into a fabric as fluid as the waves that inspired it. The SEAQUAL Collection offers operators a sustainable textile solution without compromising on performance or style.

Camira will be joined by Francois Devy, Managing Director of the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE on Monday 8 October for a brief Q&A and discussion on the story of the new fabric.

Francois Devy said:

Unlike many recycled fabrics that use inland-sourced plastic, SEAQUAL targets waste already damaging marine ecosystems, this creates greater environmental impact while also supporting local communities. We’re incredibly excited to support Camira at Busworld to showcase an industry innovation.
