NFI Group Inc. has announced a significant new contract for its subsidiary, Motor Coach Industries (MCI) to deliver commuter coaches to support Metrolinx’s transit services in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA).
Through this five-year agreement, Metrolinx, which oversees GO Transit, UP Express, and the PRESTO fare payment system, aims to expand and modernise its fleet to meet growing transportation demands.
The contract includes an initial order for 80 MCI D45 CRT diesel commuter coaches. It also provides a billing payment structure to support working capital investments.
