May Mobility has announced a partnership with European electric minibus manufacturer, Tecnobus, for the development of a new autonomous EV minibus.
Announced at CES 2025, the vehicle will include scalability for mixed fleets, homologation for use in Europe and Canada, swappable batteries, seating for up to 30 passengers and wheelchair accessibility, with a top speed of 45 mph.
Paolo Marini, CEO of Tecnobus, said:This collaboration combines Tecnobus’ electric mobility expertise with May Mobility’s cutting-edge autonomy to deliver a transformative transit solution.
This new platform represents a significant evolution, perfectly aligned with the values of sustainability, reliability, and vision that Tecnobus has upheld for over 30 years, combining our expertise in electric mobility with their technological leadership in autonomous driving.
The first minibuses are expected to be ready for deployment by the end of 2026 and will come equipped with May Mobility’s patented Multi-Policy Decision Making (MPDM) system, which leverages AI to interpret and learn from data retrieved in real time.
Edwin Olson, CEO and founder of May Mobility, said:Our partnership with Tecnobus shows that we’re serious about expanding transit access and reducing urban congestion.
It’s a strong example of how doing the right thing for communities can also be great for growing our business.
