Daimler Buses has announced that all newly delivered Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses will come equipped with a Digital Services Package designed to enhance vehicle availability and reduce total cost of ownership (TCO).

The package, offered free of charge for an initial period, provides real-time data on vehicle condition and consumption, predictive maintenance insights, and battery monitoring for electric models.

Connected from the first second: all new buses from Daimler Buses with digital services on the move

To encourage wider adoption, Daimler Buses is providing the Digital Services Package at no cost for three years on new diesel-powered Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses. For newly delivered battery-electric models, including the eCitaro, eCitaro fuel cell, and future eIntouro, the services will be available free for six years. After the complimentary period, customers will have the option to continue using the services at a reduced package price.

The package provides real-time updates on vehicle status and operating data, allowing fleet managers to detect maintenance needs early. This can help prevent major mechanical issues and extend vehicle lifespan.

For electric buses, the package includes Battery Monitoring, which offers insights into battery condition and recommendations to optimise battery life and ensure compliance with warranty conditions.

Omniplus On Uptime pro for Fleet Efficiency

Omniplus On Uptime pro, included in the package, continuously monitors vehicle systems and provides diagnostic data to fleet management and workshops. The system allows workshops to access detailed fault and diagnostic data remotely, reducing service times and enabling proactive maintenance scheduling. Fleet managers can view real-time information on driver display alerts and vehicle status, improving communication between drivers and operational teams.

Battery Monitoring for Electric Buses

A key feature for electric buses is Omniplus On Battery Monitoring, which tracks high-voltage battery performance based on key parameters such as battery type, mileage, age, cell temperature, and overall state of health. It provides recommendations to maximise battery longevity and efficiency, helping operators manage their electric fleets more effectively.

Consumption Tracking and Optimisation

The Omniplus On monitor service, also included, enables detailed analysis of energy and fuel consumption. It evaluates the energy usage of electric buses and separates consumption data for traction and auxiliary systems, such as heating and air conditioning. This data helps operators identify trends and implement measures such as driver training to improve efficiency.

With this initiative, Daimler Buses aims to support operators in maximising vehicle efficiency and reliability, while simplifying access to digital fleet management tools.
