Ebusco has nominated Mr Hou Fei as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), subject to shareholder approval at an Extraordinary General Meeting.

The nomination forms part of the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its operational leadership as it moves into its next phase of execution and development.

As previously communicated in Ebusco’s pre-AGM business update, the company has adjusted its governance structure through the appointment of Mr Hou Fei as a member-elect of the Management Board. Upon approval by shareholders, he will succeed Mr Michel van Maanen as COO.

Ebusco has obtained a 5.1 million EUR working capital bridge loan from Heights, De Engh, PBH and N-Works
The appointment of Mr. Hou Fei reflects Ebusco’s continued focus on execution, scalability and international partnership alignment

Mr Hou Fei will be based at Ebusco’s headquarters in Deurne, the Netherlands. He brings international experience in large-scale manufacturing, industrial transformation and electric vehicle technology, having worked across both Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Original Equipment Designer (OED) business models.

His career includes senior leadership roles at General Motors in the United States, at SAIC Motor joint ventures with General Motors and Volkswagen, and, since 2016, at Gotion High-Tech Co., Ltd. in China. Most recently, he served as Vice President at Gotion, where he was responsible for the Asia Pacific business.

As Ebusco company continues its transition to operating exclusively under the OED model, the COO role will place increased emphasis on industrial performance, supply chain resilience and cooperation with strategic partners.

Mr Michel van Maanen will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer of EBS Public Transportation from 21 January 2026. To support an orderly transition, he will remain a statutory director of Ebusco for a limited period in a non-executive and advisory capacity.

During his time at Ebusco, Mr van Maanen was involved in the company’s operational restructuring, including the transition back to an OED-focused operating model and related organisational changes.

Peter Bijvelds, President of Ebusco, said:

On behalf of the Management Board, I would like to sincerely thank Michel for his dedication and leadership during a pivotal period for Ebusco. His contribution to our operational restructuring and the transition back to an OED-oriented model has been instrumental in stabilising and repositioning the company. At the same time, we are very pleased to welcome Hou Fei into the role of COO. His deep operational expertise, international experience and strong industrial background are an excellent fit for Ebusco’s next phase, as we continue to strengthen execution, scalability and cooperation with our strategic partners.
