Electreon has announced its second project agreement with public transport operator, Electrica Afikim.
The new agreement will see the company provide its wireless charging technology for the operator’s Ovnat terminal in Petah Tikva, a suburb within Tel Aviv, pending budgetary approval.

The newly renewed partnership follows Electreon’s recent work providing its charging technology for 23 of the operator’s buses at its Rosh HaAyin depot in 2023.
Oren Ezer, CEO of Electreon, said:A returning customer is the best proof of the immediate value of Electreon's wireless charging solution. We thank Electra Afikim for their continued trust, and I believe that the advantages of wireless technology—increased driving range, cost savings, and the ease and convenience of charging—will drive further expansion of our activities both in Israel and internationally.
Once approved by Electria Afikim’s budgetary council, Electreon’s wireless charging will be embedded underneath passenger bays at the Ovnat terminal, allowing for automatic charging as each vehicle both picks up & drops off passengers.
Located seven miles from the Rosh HaAyin depot, the Ovnat terminal acts as a key hub in the city’s urban transport network. The proposed project will also include the design works and approvals necessary to electrify both the terminal and, pending approval from the Ministry of Transport, will also enable construction of the local power grid, wireless charging installation and both the operation and maintenance of the wireless system on site.
The project, which has received backing by the Israeli government, is set to support Electra Afikim’s current fleet of 23 electric buses equipped with Electreon’s charging technology thus far, with the operator looking to expand its fleet with more electric offerings in the near future and offer a fully electric fleet in time.
