EMT Valencia has awarded a contract to MAN Truck & Bus for 84 new fully electric and hybrid city buses.
The order comprises 57 fully electric Lion’s City 12 E buses and 27 Lion’s City 18 models featuring MAN EfficientHybrid technology.
According to MAN, this is the company’s largest electric bus order in Spain to date. The contract, valued at approximately 50 million EUR, also covers vehicle maintenance services.

The new vehicles will be delivered in stages from late 2026 as part of EMT Valencia’s fleet renewal programme. Through this initiative, the city plans to introduce 218 new electric and hybrid buses by 2028, supported by a total investment of around 170 million EUR.
The objective is to reduce the proportion of diesel buses in Valencia’s fleet to below 7% by 2027 while lowering the average age of vehicles in operation.
Robert Katzer, Head of Sales & Product Bus at MAN Truck & Bus said:The aim is to make public transport in the metropolis as sustainable as possible.
Our battery-electric buses are already on the road in Valencia, as in many other Spanish cities. The fact that the MAN eBus fleet is being further expanded clearly shows how satisfied drivers, operators and passengers are with our vehicles
