Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism (Sectur) and Flix have partnered to announce the launch of Tren Maya ticket sales through Flix’s global platform.
The announcement was made as Mexico participates as Guest Country at the 46th FITUR trade fair.

From 21 January; travellers will be able to select and purchase Tren Maya tickets via the Flix website, mobile app and physical sales points, expanding overall public access to one of Mexico’s most significant tourism and infrastructure projects.
The collaboration aims to reinforce a shared commitment between Sectur and Flix to position Mexico as a top global travel destination, support sustainable socio-economic development across the country’s southeast and, ultimately, democratise access to modern, affordable transportation options across the globe.
Carlos Magaña, Managing Director of Flix Mexico, said:As of today, any traveler – Mexican or international – can book their Tren Maya journey through Flix.
As a Mexican, I’m deeply proud to help connect more people to our extraordinary cultural heritage and natural landscapes.
Tren Maya spans 1,554 kilometres across the Yucatán Peninsula, connecting five key states: Tabasco, Campeche, Chiapas, Yucatán and Quintana Roo.
Having thus far transported more than one million passengers annually; Tren Maya operates a fleet of 42 modern trains and offers both Tourist and Premier classes.
As part of the partnership; Flix will launch a new, specially branded bus on its Spain–Portugal route, featuring graphic elements inspired by Mexico’s heritage, history and destinations.
Currently operating five routes in Mexico, Flix connects the country’s central region with the North, Gulf and Bajío, serving 12 destinations including Mexico City, Monterrey, León, Querétaro, Veracruz and San Luis Potosí.
