Flix has unveiled new plans for sustainable growth across 2026 that will see the company increase network connectivity and transform its international fleet.

Over the course of the last year; Flix has increased its global network by 33%, offering the chance to buy tickets to over 8,000 destinations across 45 different countries.

Of the stops connected by its network; around one third are in towns with under 20,000 residents, making coaches one of the only options for public transport within the area. Flix has stated that it intends to strengthen its network further in 2026 to reach more citizens throughout underrepresented regions.

André Schwämmlein, CEO and Co-Founder of Flix, said:

We think that everyone should be enabled to travel, no matter where they live or what their spending power is. With our offer of affordable, collective mobility, we have already made it easier for millions of passengers across more than 40 countries – and more will hop on the ride as we extend our service to new regions.

The company has also stated that its plans to scale up its existing networks aim to resonate with the EU’s upcoming 2026 Sustainable Tourism Strategy, which looks to tackle overcrowding in tourist hotspots and improve cross-border connectivity across a number of destinations.

With sustainability in mind; FlixBus now boasts almost 120 coaches running with the use of alternative drive methods such as electricity or biofuel. The vehicles form part of Flix’s transformation process pursued within the framework of the Science-based Targets initiative (SBTi) with targets for decarbonisation set for 2032.

Flix has claimed that whilst some solutions are hard to scale for technological and infrastructural reasons, it is determined to investigate their potential in 2026.

Finally, the EUPD Group has now officially acknowledged Flix with the status of Excellence, and has recognised it as a Leading Company in the ESG Transparency Award 2025 with a total score of 87.98/100.

André Schwämmlein commented:

We are proud to be recognized for transparent sustainability reporting. As we expand globally, our responsibility grows with us. We are committed to turning that scale into real value for the communities we serve. The EUPD Group’s recognition reinforces what drives us at Flix: building a global network that grows sustainably — and proves it.
