FlixBus has announced a partnership with coach operator, Excelsior to introduce new intercity coach services in the South of England.
The agreement will see Southampton, Bournemouth, and Poole added to the FlixBus UK network for the first time. The new routes will connect these coastal towns to Heathrow Airport and London, with up to five services operating in each direction daily.
These services are scheduled to begin on 15 May 2025.

Excelsior will operate the services using four Temsa HD12 coaches, which will be branded in FlixBus’s green livery.
The company currently runs local transport services across Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire, and the Isle of Wight.
Andreas Schorling, Senior Managing Director of FlixBus UK said:Our new partnership with Excelsior completes our network and achieves full coverage of the UK for FlixBus, marking a key milestone in our growth journey and road to market leadership.
Excelsior has a fantastic local customer base and extensive experience in delivering high-quality express coach services. They are the ideal partner to bring our affordable, sustainable, and reliable transport brand to new cities in the South, and we are delighted to serve millions more passengers with the opportunity for travel this summer.
The collaboration coincides with FlixBus UK’s fourth year of operations. The company anticipates over 200 branded coaches will be in service by the summer travel season, as it continues to increase the number of routes and locations available to passengers.
David Lee-Kong, operations director at Excelsior, said:FlixBus has brought the express coach market into the 21st century through its innovative model, advanced technology, and strong customer proposition.
We are proud to be the first partner in the South of England, supporting the growth of FlixBus network and enhancing connectivity for residents across our key locations.
