FlixBus has launched operations in Australia, with ticket sales now open and coach services commencing on 20 November.
This marks the company’s entry into its 45th country, extending its presence across five continents and supporting its strategy to provide accessible and sustainable long-distance travel worldwide.

Services in Australia will commence on 20 November 2025, initially connecting Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney, along one of the nation’s busiest travel corridors. The network will also include selected stops at international and domestic airports, offering connections for both local and international travellers.
André Schwämmlein, CEO and Founder of Flix said:We are proud to officially mark our entry into Australia, our 45th market, a significant milestone in our mission to shape the future of long-distance bus travel. This launch reflects how our scalable tech platform and partnership model enable sustainable growth across continents and reinforces our commitment to a long-term, sustainable presence in every market we enter.
The Australian network illustrates Flix’s approach to market entry, which focuses on creating scalable networks that can expand over time and serve additional communities. The company’s technology platform supports route planning, dynamic pricing and the digital customer experience, facilitating integration into local travel systems.
Globally, Flix now offers connections to more than 8,000 destinations across 45 countries, working with a network of local bus and train partners and using proprietary technology for planning, pricing and customer service.
Earlier in 2025, Flix also announced plans to launch operations in Peru by the end of the year, which would mark its fourth Latin American market following Brazil, Chile and Mexico.
