FlixBus has announced that it will soon expand its current offerings in Croatia, as the local bus market begins to allow a portion of private companies to expand their operations.

The operator has stated that the opening of the market will enable it to begin providing more frequent services across a wider number of destinations.

Once new regulations go into effect from 01 December; FlixBus will launch an expanded domestic network reaching nearly 130 destinations, including the introduction of 17 daily departures on the Zagreb–Rijeka–Pula route, 17 daily departures on the Zagreb–Varaždin–Čakovec route and 8 daily departures on the Zagreb–Osijek route.

André Schwämmlein, Founder & CEO of Flix, said:

This is a development that we have advocated for since our launch in the market almost 10 years ago.

Back then, the landscape looked very different. The market was closed, rules were restrictive, and innovation was limited.

It’s great to see steps toward finally opening the market to fair competition. As we’ve seen in other countries, opening the market leads to stronger regional mobility, more choices for passengers and more affordable travel.

Now, we get to further increase our offer and give the passengers even more options to choose their preferred way to travel. Congratulations to Ante and the local team for this great development!
