ElDorado National California (ENC) has received an order to supply 19 Axess EVO-FC hydrogen fuel cell buses to Californian public transit provider, Foothill Transit.

The Axess EVO-FC hydrogen model is powered by the industry’s highest capacity fuel cell, alongside BAE Systems’ Gen3 electric propulsion system. It has a range of up to 400 miles and refuels in 12–20 minutes.

Foothill Transit has ordered 19 ENC zero-emission Axess EVO-FC hydrogen fuel cell buses
Mike Ammann, Vice President of Sales, ENC said:

The Axess EVO-FC is the perfect addition to Foothill Transit’s zero-emissions fleet. ENC continues to lead the industry in next-generation alternative fuel buses that help transit authorities across the country operate in a more sustainable way.

Foothill Transit currently operates a fleet of 359 buses in Southern California’s San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys, including Pasadena and downtown Los Angeles.

Its fleet already includes hydrogen-powered buses, such as NFI’s Xcelsior CHARGE H2 vehicles.

The new Axess EVO-FC buses ordered from ENC will help Foothill Transit achieve its goal of operating a 100% zero-emissions bus fleet. To further advance this mission, the agency is also part of the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Bus Council.
