Representatives for the region of the Communauté d’Agglomération du Pays Basque have placed an order for eleven brand-new trams from Irizar.
The order consists of seven 18-metre long vehicles and four 12-metre long vehicles, all of which are equipped with new GSR2 ADAS systems and renewed 470 kWh batteries, as well as updated drive systems.

The Irizar ie trams, affectionately known as the Tram’Bus, are manufactured in Europe’s first electromobility factory based in Aduna, Gipuzkoa, and will be put into operation along Line T2, a BRT-line.
Line T2 is currently undergoing an extensive expansion, with construction spanning from Spring 2024 to 2026. Upgrades include exclusive right-of-way and a set of two new parking areas with a capacity of up to 670 vehicles.
