Daimler Buses has hit a significant milestone, opening its 100th eBus service centre with a new Omniplus facility in Lemgo, North Rhine-Westphalia for eCitaro customers.

Each Omniplus service employee will receive full training in the correct handling of electric vehicles and associated high-voltage technology, with the site employing the use of specially insulated tools and clothing designed for safe work directly on the vehicle batteries themselves.

The new service centre is the 100th opened by Daimler Buses

Training for on-site personnel includes instructions on how to perform maintenance on electric drive axles, inverters, lines, fuses and on roof-mounted air conditioning systems.

A crane will also be in use for the removal and transfer of heavier bus batteries.

The site has been designed to meet all live line working (LLW) safety requirements, as is required as standard at all Omniplus service centres.

Mirko Sgodda, Head of Marketing, Sales and Customer Services Daimler Buses, explains:

The opening of our 100th eBus service centre is another milestone for us. Our customers in Europe have traditionally benefited from a comprehensive and highly professional service network, and we are continuing to drive forward the expansion of our service portfolio for electric vehicles. In doing so, we attach great importance to comprehensive service and the highest service quality.
