Solaris has received an order for an additional 270 Urbino 18 electric buses from Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG), following on from an initial order of 50 vehicles in December 2023.

The framework agreement includes provisions for a maximum delivery quantity of up to 700 electric articulated buses over the course of an eight-year period.

The order builds on an existing order of 50 vehicles dating back to 2023
Christian Goll, Managing Director of Solaris Deutschland GmbH, said:

Fleet electrification and infrastructure modernization are key challenges faced by public transport operators across Europe today. BVG is tackling them in an exemplary way, consistently investing in the best zero-emission solutions available on the market.

Being awarded another – and record-breaking – order by BVG is a strong sign of our successful and long-standing partnership.

Each new vehicle will be equipped with Solaris High Energy batteries, with charging made possible via both a standard plug-in socket and pantograph.
