Solaris will supply an additional 26 hydrogen buses in the German market under a contract with REVG Kerpen.

The public transport operator, based in Kerpen, Germany, has ordered 26 Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen vehicles.

Solaris has already delivered the first two units to Kerpen, marking the debut of Solaris buses in the city. Deliveries of the remaining vehicles are scheduled for 2025.

The buses will be equipped with 70 kW hydrogen fuel cells that generate electrical energy onboard. They will be powered by central electric motors.

What’s more, the Urbino hydrogen buses will feature Solaris High Power batteries to support fuel cell operation during peak demand.

This order represents the German market’s continued investment in hydrogen-powered buses.Solaris Urbino hydrogen buses are already operating in Cologne, Wuppertal, Hofolding, Weimar, Frankfurt, Gross-Zimmern, Aschaffenburg and the Munich metropolitan area.

Additionally, further contracts are in progress for cities such as Krefeld, Güstrow, Gross-Gerau, Hamburg, Gummersbach and Duisburg.
