The Go-Ahead Group has achieved a new milestone by surpassing a total of 1,100 zero-emission buses ordered for its fleet.

To reach this milestone, the operator is adding 201 zero-emission buses to Go-Ahead’s regional fleets, with delivery scheduled by March 2026.

These units will be distributed among several of Go-Ahead’s regional bus companies, including Plymouth CityBus, Go Cornwall Bus, Go North East, Pulhams Coaches, Salisbury Reds, Southern Vectis, East Yorkshire Buses, and Brighton & Hove Metrobus.

This 112 million GBP investment is pooled from the Department for Transport, Go-Ahead’s bus companies and local authority partners, demonstrating a shared commitment to advancing sustainable transport solutions.

This funding will not only finance the acquisition of zero-emission buses but will also contribute to the development of the required infrastructure.

Miguel Parras, CEO of The Go-Ahead Group said:

We are proud to lead the way in electrifying urban transit and accelerating the transition to cleaner, greener transport and we extend our gratitude to all our partners for trusting in us to deliver. Our ongoing partnership with local authority partners and our investment in cutting-edge EV (Electric Vehicle) technology are driving meaningful reductions in carbon emissions and delivering tangible benefits to communities across the UK.

Each zero-emission bus deployed by The Go-Ahead Group is projected to save an average of 60 tonnes of carbon emissions per year.

This significant reduction in emissions not only contributes to the fight against climate change but also helps deliver a cleaner and healthier environment for communities.
