The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has officially inaugurated its newly-revamped bus terminal in Azadpur.

The inauguration, which was handled by the hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Rekha Gupta. Delhi’s Transport Minister and Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh, comes alongside the flagging off of a new fleet of 40 electric buses for operation within the district.

Developed by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the revamped terminal is located adjacent to GR Karnal Road, close to the Azadpur Metro station, with the terminal directly connected with the station’s yellow line via a pedestrian footbridge.

The 2616-square-metre terminal has been built to provide stops for up to 6 buses at a time, with the site anticipated to accommodate up to 72 buses per hour during peak times (including a 5 minute halt time).

Featuring three entry gates; the building is equipped with dedicated, air-conditioned passenger waiting areas, public toilets, digital information systems, rooftop solar panels, CCTV monitoring, biodigesters, a pharmacy, canteen and gas-based gensets.
