Transports Vallée de Joux, Yverdon and Ste-Croix (TRAVYS) has ordered a new fleet of fully electric buses from Irizar e-mobility for use in Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland.
The order falls under a framework agreement running until 2029, which also includes regional operators Transports Publics du Chablais (TPC) and Transports de Martigny et Régions (TMR).
Under the contract, Irizar will supply its 12-metre ie bus model, equipped with Generation 3 batteries that offer over 500 kWh of capacity.

The buses will use pantograph-based opportunity charging, allowing for quick top-ups during scheduled stops to support continuous operation throughout the day.
Each vehicle includes three doors, a wheelchair ramp, and dedicated space for passengers with reduced mobility. The layout provides 34 seats, four of which are designated as accessible. Digital rearview cameras and advanced safety systems will support drivers in urban environments.
The buses are expected to be delivered to TRAVYS in early 2026. They will enter service on local routes across the Yverdon urban area.
Irizar e-mobility has delivered electric buses to several Swiss cities since 2019, including Schaffhausen, Bern and Geneva. Switzerland now ranks as the company’s third-largest international market.
Visa Saxon, Irizar’s Swiss partner, will handle technical support, spare parts, and logistics. The company also plays a key role in promoting and coordinating Irizar’s activities in the Swiss public transport sector.
