Irizar e-mobility has been awarded a contract to supply 39 electric buses for operator Arriva Personenvervoer Netherland – marking the company’s first foray into the country.

Whilst the entire order will consist of Irizar ie model trams; eighteen of the vehicles will measure in at 12-metres in length and the remaining twenty-one articulated units will measure in at 18-metres.

The vehicles will enter service in a number of cities in the Oost-Brabant region – specifically, Tilburg and ‘s-Hertogenbosch – when they are delivered in December 2026. They will be incorporated into Arriva Netherland’s public transport network, operating on a high-capacity BRT line.

We’re looking forward to seeing the new buses on the road in the Oost-Brabant region and watching residents enjoy the experience of travelling in the Irizar ie trams.

Each vehicle will be equipped with Irizar batteries boasting over 615 kWh of power, with charging set to be handled in the depot via a Combo 2 system. The vehicles will have both an electric & manual ramp, and the driver’s seat will have a personalised position memory, allowing for individual, automatic adjustments for each driver.
