Italian bus operator, Asf Autolinee, has introduced 23 Yutong battery electric buses into service in Como.

These new buses will fully electrify four major bus lines in the city: Line 1, Line 2, Line 6, and Line 11.

The fleet includes Yutong E12 and E10 models. Specifically, 14 10.9-metre E10 units and 9 12.17-metre E12 units have been rolled out in the city,

The larger E12 model can accommodate up to 65 passengers and is equipped with a manual ramp for wheelchair accessibility.

Meanwhile, its battery has a capacity of 422.87 kWh, providing an extended range to ensure consistent daily operations.

Both models feature an auxiliary braking system for enhanced safety.

This transition to electric buses is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 1,300 tonnes annually, while providing residents and visitors in Como with a cleaner and quieter transport option.
