Karel Majer, Chairman of the Board of Management of Škoda Electric in Škoda Group said:

At Škoda Group we are proud to be part of one of the largest trolleybus projects. It is a demonstration of the trust that our partners place in our Group’s technological expertise and manufacturing capabilities. Our traction drives, which have already been deployed in more than 50,000 vehicles worldwide, prove our commitment to excellence in every journey. We believe in innovations that cross borders and change the way people perceive urban transport.

The traction equipment for the Genoa trolleybuses will include traction batteries with a capacity of 81 kWh. This will enable the vehicles to operate across substantial distances without a catenary line.

The package also includes automatic current collectors and advanced diagnostics.
