The tender procedures for these vehicles were conducted by the Gubielo Spa purchasing group for the carrier ATAC Roma.

The hybrid vehicles are scheduled for delivery in Rome in 2024, while the CNG-powered vehicles will be delivered in in 2024 and 2025. ATAC Roma also has the option to extend this order by an additional 78 CNG units in the coming months.

Under these contracts, Solaris will service the ordered vehicles for the next 10 years. If all options are used, the orders will have a total value of 200 million EUR, making it one of the largest in Solaris’ history.

The buses will join 30 Solaris trolleybuses delivered to ATAC in 2003-2005. In addition, operators in the Lazio region use more than 700 Solaris InterUrbino intercity vehicles for regional transport in the suburbs of Rome.

In total, Solaris has delivered over 1,800 vehicles to Italy, which is one of the company’s key markets.
