Kiira Motors Corporation has delivered two 13-metre Kayoola Electric Coaches to the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority.

The Kayoola Electric Coach model has undergone extensive testing, including a 13,000-kilometre journey from Uganda to South Africa and back.

This test was designed to assess its reliability and performance across different road conditions.

The vehicles delivered to the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority are intended for use by institutions and fleet operators. They will provide a zero-emission transport alternative as Uganda works toward reducing its carbon footprint.

The coaches are locally engineered and assembled, thus also supporting local employment and industry development.

The handover took place on 26 March and was attended by officials from the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority. This presence highlighted the government’s interest in integrating electric vehicles into public and institutional transport networks.

Kiira Motors Corporation has indicated that further deliveries of electric coaches are planned as part of a wider initiative to modernise public transport while supporting environmental sustainability.
