Kinetic has announced a brand-new agreement that will see the company acquire Tassielink Transit in a bid to further strengthen its wider commitment to the state, as well as its gradually expanding public transport network.
Currently, Tassielink operates a set of six contracted General Access services connecting Greater Hobart with the Huon Valley, Tasman Peninsula, East Coast, Southern Midlands, as well as services in both the Launceston region and on the West Coast, on behalf of Building Tasmania.
The company operates a fleet of 39 buses from its Derwent Park depot, as well as satellite sites across the state. It has connected Tasmanian communities for several decades, and has been owned and led by the Dewsbery family since 2020.
Following the transaction’s completion, which is expected later this year, Tassielink’s drivers and frontline team members will continue to deliver services, whilst passengers will see no change to either routes or timetables.
