A range of new electric buses and coaches will be presented at the 16th International Bus and Coach Fair (FIAA 2026), taking place at IFEMA Madrid from 22–24 September.
More than 100 exhibitors are expected to attend the event, with organisers reporting a 50% increase in international participation compared with the previous edition. Vehicle manufacturers will use the exhibition to introduce new battery-electric models alongside developments in propulsion, digital fleet management, safety systems and passenger experience.
IVECO BUS will use FIAA 2026 to launch a new battery-electric bus, extending its electric product portfolio into an additional vehicle segment. Daimler Buses will present what it describes as its first electric intercity bus equipped with over-the-air software update capability.
Irizar is scheduled to unveil the platform for its new 15-metre Irizar i3 electric model and will also display the ietram Efficient. Alongside its vehicles, the company will highlight Izir, its circular economy initiative that repurposes surplus production materials.
Solaris, marking its 30th anniversary, will exhibit the Urbino 15 LE electric, a three-axle low-entry vehicle designed for intercity services.
Marcopolo will introduce the Paradiso G8, its first battery-electric coach, ahead of its planned European market launch in 2027. The manufacturer says the vehicle has been developed to meet the requirements of European operators through a range of seating and configuration options.
Yutong will present its new T14E electric coach, which the manufacturer says is capable of travelling up to 850 kilometres on a single charge. The company will also display the IC12E, U13 and T12 models, alongside its EV Long-life Tech battery technology, designed for a service life of up to 15 years or 1.5 million kilometres.
Turkish manufacturer TEMSA will showcase the Avenue Neo electric city bus and a redesigned version of its Prestij model, while Higer Bus will demonstrate its G-BOS intelligent fleet management system.
Alongside complete vehicles, exhibitors will present new propulsion systems intended to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions.
ZF will exhibit its CeTrax 2 dual electric drive and the A134 rear axle, which incorporates regenerative braking technology. Driventic will introduce its DIWANXT automatic transmission with 48V mild hybrid technology, together with the VEDS 1.5 electric drive system.
A number of component suppliers will also focus on electrification, including Würth Elektronik ICS with high-voltage power distribution systems, while Autosur de Levante will present an electric traction motor and accessibility ramps.
Manufacturers of smaller passenger vehicles will also attend the event. Indcar will display four minibuses for urban and tourism applications, while Minibuses Iberia and StyleBus will present premium vehicles based on Mercedes-Benz platforms.
Interior comfort and efficiency will be addressed through new air-conditioning systems from Eberspächer, lightweight interior components from Alintra Systems and thermoformed vehicle panels from Polirros.
FIAA 2026 will also include discussions on fleet digitalisation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, the energy transition and workforce development. Visitors will also have the opportunity to test electric, hybrid and hydrogen-powered buses during the exhibition.
