MAN Truck & Bus has supplied an order of 67 chassis from the E-Mutiara Berhad consortium.

The Euro 5 RR5 26.440 chassis form the basis of an order of 12 single-deckers and 55 double-deckers, with local manufacturer Gemilang responsible for the bodywork.

The first 10 double-decker coaches were delivered to the consortium at the Gemilang plant in Johor in July, with the remaining vehicles set to be delivered in the coming months.

The 67 new coaches will be employed on routes connecting all major cities on the Malaysian peninsula, as well as Singapore.

The vehicles have ben equipped with assistance, telematics and safety systems including emergency brake assist, lane departure warning and cruise control.
