National Express has announced it will be providing the largest number of coach journeys across the UK this festive season – including services on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

The operator has stated it will provide 355 journeys across 96 locations on Christmas Day alone, with booking for this year up by 50% when compared to this time last year.

Destinations served on Christmas Day are set to include Swindon, Plymouth, London, Manchester Airport, Luton Airport, Gatwick and Birmingham.

Ed Rickard, Network Director for National Express, said:

When reliability matters most our customers know that they can count on us to get them home safely this Christmas - and as the nation’s favourite coach operator we are offering the UK’s biggest festive transport network, with thousands of frequent, comfortable and affordable services throughout Christmas and New Year - including over 350 services on Christmas Day itself.

Given the planned rail disruption over the festive period we’re expecting our coaches to be busy so we encourage customers to book early to get the best prices and guarantee a seat for travel.

National Express has also announced that it will be extending its current Kids Go Free offer until 4 January 2026, which allows up to three children aged 15 and below to travel with one adult per journey.

Additionally, the operator is also set to introduce a slew of new timetables and improvements between London and Stansted Airport from 8 December; including the addition of an extra departure from London Liverpool Street, a reduction in journey time from London Stratford to 45 minutes and additional services from Canary Wharf.
