Xiamen Golden Dragon has manufactured customised electric buses for Vy Group, Norway’s state-owned transport operator.

Recently, a delegation from Vy Group has visited Xiamen to carry out final acceptance inspections on five models.

Golden Dragon electric buses are already in service in Norway, with more than 200 orders delivered or contracted. The vehicles have been tested in winter conditions, including temperatures down to –20°C. Further deliveries are planned under the 2026 Drammen Line tender, which will increase the number of electric buses in operation.

Vy Group representatives said the buses have met operational requirements in both summer and winter conditions. Drivers have reported stable handling on icy roads and straightforward vehicle controls. Passenger feedback has highlighted interior space, lighting and seating comfort, as well as the benefits of zero-emission operation.

The five models developed for Vy Group include 10-metre, 12-metre and 15-metre versions for city and coach use. The specifications were adapted for Nordic operating conditions. Golden Dragon said it intends to continue supplying electric buses in Norway and expand its activities across the wider Nordic region.

Vy Group, which is wholly owned by the Norwegian state and overseen by the Ministry of Transport, operates rail, bus, freight and tourism services in Norway and parts of Sweden. Vy Buss is Norway’s largest bus operator, providing public transport, express services, airport transfers and coach operations across Scandinavia.
