MPK Poznań has contracted Solaris Bus & Coach to supply up to 17 articulated electric buses to operate in Poznań, western Poland.

The contract initially includes 9 Solaris Urbino electric vehicles with an option to expand the order by an additional 8 units. These vehicles are scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2026.

The articulated buses, each 18 metres long, are designed to accommodate at least 110 passengers, offering modern, quiet, air-conditioned interiors.

The emission-free propulsion system is powered by an air-cooled asynchronous motor and next-generation Solaris High Energy batteries, which have been designed with high energy density. This configuration supports long driving ranges prior to overnight depot charging.

This order will expand the city’s existing fleet of Solaris electric buses. Poznań’s transition to electric public transport began in 2019 with the introduction of its first Solaris electric buses. The city’s fleet now includes 58 battery-powered Solaris buses and 25 hydrogen-powered vehicles.
