Solaris has been awarded a new contract for the supply of 20 Trollino 12 trolleybuses for the Municipal Transport Company in Lublin (MPK Lublin).
The new vehicles will join the city’s already extensive fleet of Solaris trolleybuses in early 2027.

Lublin is one of three Polish cities utilising trolleybuses in its public transport systems alongside Gdynia and Tychy, and, thanks to the new contract, will expand its fleet with 20 new vehicles, bringing the city’s total to 80.
Agata Stańda, CEO of Solaris Bus & Coach sp. z o.o, said:Lublin is now among the leaders of electromobility in Poland, and we are proud that our vehicles genuinely support this development. Our cooperation with MPK Lublin spans almost three decades and includes over 120 zero-emission vehicles delivered. The contract for 20 Trollino 12 trolleybuses is another step in building one of the most advanced electromobility networks in Poland.
Trolleybuses, together with electric and hydrogen buses, are one of the pathways to sustainable, environmentally friendly mobility in cities, and Solaris offers all these solutions, supporting the transformation of public transport across Europe.
The new Solaris Trollino 12 vehicles will feature a traditional trolleybus driveline, as well as onboard batteries enabling operation beyond the overhead line network. Batteries will be capable of charging whilst connected to the trolleybus infrastructure, allowing for expanded operational flexibility.
The system will include a preconditioning function which allows the trolleybus’ interior temperature to be optimised before departure, as well as proprietary eSConnect software, enabling remote vehicle monitoring, diagnostics and operational support.
All trolleybuses will be fitted with the latest safety systems compliant with General Safety Regulation 2 (GSR2), which aim to increase the protection of all road users via the use of a number of solutions, including a Blind Spot Information System (BSIS) that detects cyclists in blind spots, and a Moving Off Information System (MOIS) that monitors the presence of pedestrians and cyclists in front of the vehicle and alerts the driver.
Each Trollino will be capable of accommodating up to 80 passengers with 29 seated. Passenger comfort enhancements will include USB ports and a passenger counting system, allowing for analysis of passenger flow.
