Karsan has signed new agreements to supply electric buses to the cities of Chitila and Focșani in Romania.
Under the contracts, a total of 42 e-ATA buses, each measuring 10 metres in length, will be delivered by 2026.

The Turkish manufacturer has confirmed that 21 vehicles will go to each city. This follows earlier deliveries to both municipalities and marks another phase in their transition to electric public transport.
Once the new vehicles are in service, Chitila’s fleet of Karsan buses will rise to 44 units, while Focșani will operate 47.

Romania remains one of Karsan’s focus markets in Europe. The company currently has 380 electric vehicles operating across more than 40 Romanian cities.
Okan Baş, CEO of Karsan said:Romania is one of the most strategically important markets in Karsan's growth journey in Europe, where we are very strong and where we aim to grow even further. Today, we are ranked 2nd in the Romanian electric public transportation market with our widespread fleet spread across more than 40 cities in the country. This is not just a numerical success; it is also a concrete reflection of the sustainable, innovative and user-friendly solutions we offer.
