SAFRA has completed a demonstration of its HYCITY hydrogen bus in the snowy Tarentaise Valley in partnership with HYmpulsion and Gaz Electricité de Grenoble (GEG).

This test took place from 9-10 April, commencing at the Moûtiers hydrogen recharging station in the Hympulsion network.

Over two days of testing, the bus operated on routes that reflect the mobility needs of ski resorts, including Courchevel and TIGNES OFFICIEL.

During these tests, the bus was able to climb some steep slopes while maintaining an ideal driving speed.

The HYCITY bus therefore proved its performance in winter weather conditions during -4° conditions in Tignes. It also reached an altitude of 2300 metres in Tignes-Val Claret, which is a first for a hydrogen bus.

This model has an estimated range of 350 kilometres in the mountains, where it consumes less that 7 kilograms of hydrogen per 100 kilometers travelled.
