Daimler Buses has announced that several German transport operators have taken delivery of new vehicles from Setra, including Gerdes Reisen, Geldhauser Linien- und Reiseverkehr and Schröder Reisen.

Gerdes Reisen
Gerdes Reisen has introduced 26 new Setra buses as part of a fleet renewal programme. The order comprises 24 low-entry vehicles from the MultiClass range and two double-decker coaches from the TopClass series.
The new buses are operating within the network of the Verkehrsverbund Bremen/Niedersachsen (VBN), whose route contract has been extended for a further ten years. Services are concentrated in the Ammerland-Westerstede district in Lower Saxony.
The delivery includes ten S 515 LE buses, each providing 45 seats and 38 standing places, and 14 S 518 LE vehicles with 57 seats and 48 standing places. All are fitted with interior camera systems.
Additionally, two S 531 DT double-deckers provide 87 seats, 17 standing places and a designated wheelchair space. They are equipped with destination displays and passenger counting systems and are deployed on the express route between Westerstede and Oldenburg.
Based in Westerstede, Gerdes Reisen is managed by Thomas Gerdes, representing the second generation of the family business, alongside his three sons.
Geldhauser
Geldhauser Linien- und Reiseverkehr has expanded its fleet with nine Setra S 531 DT double-decker buses. Seven of the vehicles will operate on behalf of the Münchner Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund (MVV) on routes in the Dachau district and on express services. The remaining two buses will be used for charter operations, including school and corporate travel.
The company, founded in 1962 and headquartered in Hofolding, south of Munich, operates a fleet of around 800 vehicles. Its services cover public transport contracts as well as private hire for municipalities, companies, associations and schools.
Schröder Reisen
Schröder Reisen has taken delivery of 16 new Setra coaches to coincide with its 35th anniversary.
The vehicles will be based in Berlin and Langenau and used for day excursions and multi-day tours across Europe. They are equipped with driver assistance and safety systems supplied by Daimler Buses, along with leather headrests, on-board kitchens and toilet facilities.

The handover ceremony took place at the Daimler Buses customer centre at the Neu-Ulm production site. Schröder Reisen, founded in 1990 by Andreas Schröder and now managed with his son Dominic, operates a fleet of 130 Setra vehicles.
In addition to charter and tour services, the company is a partner of FlixBus for routes in Central, Eastern and Southern Germany. It also provides team transport for sports organisations, including the basketball club Ratiopharm Ulm and the football club SSV Ulm 1846.
