Specialist workshop equipment provider Totalkare is proud to announce a landmark installation for long-established coach operator Skills Coaches, based in Nottinghamshire. The project incorporates a complement of mobile column lifts and a bespoke six-post heavy-vehicle lifting platform – marking Totalkare’s first ever six-post lift solution.

As part of the upgrade, Skills Coaches has purchased:
- A set of six of Totalkare’s cable-free mobile column lifts, model T8AC.
- A six-post heavy-vehicle lift (14 metre platform length, 33,000 kg lifting capacity) – custom-built based on Totalkare’s four-post lift platform.
- A 20,000kg jacking beam, allowing efficient wheel-free maintenance
The new equipment will serve Skills Coaches’ purpose-built workshop facility, enabling simultaneous servicing of multiple large coaches and providing full access under heavy commercial vehicles. With the 14 metre platform length and 33,000 kg capacity of the six-post lift, alongside the agility of the six T8AC mobile column lifts, the workshop is now equipped to meet growing fleet demands and enhance turnaround times for maintenance and repairs.
Liam Graham, at Skills Coaches, said:Our workshop expansion is a key strategic investment in the future of our fleet maintenance. Working with Totalkare has enabled us to install the six-post platform and six T8AC mobile column lifts, giving us unmatched flexibility and capacity. It’s brilliant to lead the way with this first-ever six-post system. Our team now has the tools to maintain our modern coaches and double-deckers more efficiently and safely.
Oliver Newman, Area Sales Manager at Totalkare, said:We are delighted to partner with Skills Coaches on what is effectively a pioneering workshop upgrade. The decision to integrate six T8AC mobile column lifts alongside a customised six-post platform demonstrates the scale of their operations and their commitment to best-in-class engineering standards. Being our first six-post installation makes this project particularly special.
