The Škoda Group has been awarded two tenders for the supply of a total of 75 new trolleybuses for Sofia, Bulgaria.
The contracts, which have been valued at 56.19 million EUR, will see the company supply 35 fully low-floor 12-metre Škoda 32Tr & 40 articulated 18-metre Škoda 27Tr trolleybuses.

All vehicles will be fully low-floor and come equipped with a traction battery capable of travelling a minimum range of 15 kilometres outside the catenary system.
The vehicles will also be equipped with advanced diagnostics systems, enabling remote data transmission.
Delivery of the 12-metre trolleybuses will take place within 12 months from the contract taking full effect, with 18-metre, two-section trolleybuses set to be delivered within 15 months from the same date.
Both contracts will come into effect once financing from the European Union funds has been confirmed.
Karel Majer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Škoda Electric in Škoda Group, said:Success in both Sofia tenders is a confirmation of the quality and reliability of our solutions for us. Sofia has been investing in the modernisation of its electric public transport for a long time and we are ready to be its partner in further increasing the comfort and environmental friendliness of urban mobility.
The new trolleybuses will fundamentally improve the quality of public transport in the city.
