Solaris has secured a set of new contracts to supply electric buses for three Swedish regions.

Transport operator Nobina has placed an order of 88 Solaris electric buses for integration into the Skåne, Värmland and Malmö regions.

Photoraph: Lukasz Bera

The order is expected to be fulfilled over the course of the next year, with Solaris set to deliver 55 & 15 Urbino 15 LE electric buses to Skåne & Värmland respectively, and 18 Urbino 18 electric buses to the city of Malmö.

Olivier Michard, Member of the Management Board for Sales and Marketing in Solaris Bus & Coach, said:

These new orders mark another significant step towards greener public transport solutions in Sweden. We are thrilled to continue our collaboration with Nobina and be a part of the implementation of zero-emission solutions also in suburban transportation. We believe it is crucial for the global transformation of mobility.

The Solaris Urbino 15 LE electric units set for Skåne and Värmland are powered by a central 240kW central motor and come equipped with additional lighting above the vehicle door to aid in the boarding and alighting at darker periods.

The Urbino 18 electric is an articulated model with a modular drive featuring new battery technology and a 240kW asynchronous motor, as well as Solaris High Energy batteries located on the roof of the vehicle.
