Solaris Bus & Coach has announced the signing of a new framework with Swiss public transport operator PostAuto for the delivery of up to 115 electric buses.

Under the agreement, which saw Solaris selected in a tender procedure for 12-metre and 18-metre buses, PostAuto will place orders for vehicles to be delivered in 2026 and 2027 in a number of cities across Switzerland.

The framework agreement will allow the operator to place orders until the end of 2026, whilst deliveries may continue until the end of 2027.

Thus far; PostAuto has already placed an initial order for 33 buses – 23 Urbino 12 electric and 10 Urbino 18 electric vehicles, all of which will join the operator’s fleet across Switzerland.

Solaris participated in the tender using its electric models with a modular drive system – the Urbino 12 electric and the Urbino 18 electric. The company has already delivered almost 250 vehicles to PostAuto as part of previous tenders, with 700 of its buses operating in Switzerland to date.
