Solaris Bus & Coach has signed a contract with MZA Warsaw for the supply of 50 articulated Solaris Urbino 18 electric buses in the Polish capital.

This latest order further strengthens the long-standing partnership between the manufacturer and Warsaw’s municipal bus operator. To date, Solaris has delivered nearly 1,350 buses to MZA, including 163 electric models.

The Solaris Urbino 18 electric buses will be equipped with an electric motor and the latest-generation Solaris High Energy batteries. Charging will take place at depots via standard plug-in connections.

A key feature of these buses is their modular drive system, with components mounted on the roof to maximise passenger space. Each vehicle will have a capacity of 103 passengers, improving efficiency for high-demand routes.

The first Solaris electric buses entered service in Warsaw in 2015. Since then, the city’s fleet has expanded to 163 battery-electric buses. In addition to this latest contract, Solaris is completing another order placed by MZA in 2023. Once all deliveries are finalised, MZA Warsaw will operate a total of 224 Solaris electric buses, reinforcing the city’s commitment to zero-emission transport.
