Electric Buses and Charging Systems

It’s all about clean and silent cities!

Ebusco is dedicated to the development, marketing and sale of fully electric city and regional buses, mainly for the European market. Ebusco is an originally Dutch company based in Deurne, the Netherlands.

Ebusco is a pioneer and a forerunner in the development of electric buses and charging systems and is now able to offer an electric bus that is cheaper than a diesel bus.

The European Union has set stringent objectives for reducing CO2 emissions in the very near future. The Netherlands is the most progressive EU state in this regard. In 2016 the Dutch government signed an agreement with all public transport providers stipulating that no new diesel buses may be sold from 2025 and that from 2030 no diesel buses will be allowed to operate.

Since the company’s creation in 2012 we have gained extensive experience by supplying more than 150 buses to 15 European cities.

In July 2020 our buses had covered 10.612.135 electrically powered kilometres.

Our city and regional buses have normal timetables and can therefore easily cover 300 kilometres a day on a single battery charge.

The goal of Ebusco is to make clean, silent and emission-free public transport available to everyone. Due to the successes it has achieved,  Ebusco is growing fast. At present Ebusco employs over 150 people.

Why Ebusco

  • Pioneer in the market for electrical city and regional buses, since 2012
  • Best battery in the market with a 350km range and no charging infrastructure required in cities: overnight charging at depot is sufficient
  • TCO: our Ebusco electric bus is cheaper than a traditional diesel bus – current infrastructure requires very little adjustment
  • Eight-year battery warranty
  • The flexibility of a relatively small organisation; we carry out improvements immediately

Electric Buses

Zero Emission Is Not a Dream. It Is a Choice.

Our electric buses ensure clean and quiet cities. This is a top priority around the world and we are pleased to make our modest contribution to it!

But why would you acquire an electric city or regional bus? For many people the transition from diesel to electric is by no means obvious or easy. We can imagine that you have many questions and doubts.

We’ll be happy to help you with this transition. We embarked upon the electric bus adventure back in 2010, and so we already have many years of experience that we would like to share with you.

Ebusco 2.2

The Ebusco 2.2 is a very innovative electric bus.

Ebusco supplies the 2.2 in 3 variants: 12-meter (city & regional) bus, 12,9 meter and 18-meter bus.

With its >350 kWh battery pack, the Ebusco 2.2 (12 meters) can run a range of up to 350 km. With the optional >400 kWh battery pack, the Ebusco 2.2 (12 meters) can run a range of up to 450 km. With this, practically all city and regional transport can run on 1 battery in a day. At night, the buses will charge in a depot to be ready for a new day the next morning.

Ebusco 3.0

The Ebusco 3.0 designed to be a gamechanger in the electric bus industry

Not constrained by a past reliant on fossil fuel, Ebusco has a ground-breaking and unique approach to developing electric buses. A multifunctional team of key experts, who have earned their spurs in the field of aerospace, automotive and electronics, has developed an innovative fully electric bus which goes beyond all existing boundaries to redefine the world of public transportation: Ebusco 3.0.

Ebusco’s new bus breaks the barriers of current bus design in our drive for sustainable public transport. Not only by using composite materials in the main structure of the body, but also in its approach to focus the design around passenger comfort, driver support and Total Cost of Ownership. Last but not least, it contributes to make the world we live in a safer and healthier place.

Battery

Warranty up to 10 Years

Ebusco offers battery warranty for up to ten years. Depending on the wishes and requirements expressed, we discuss the best warranty with the customer. In doing so we look together at crucial aspects such as the number of kilometres, the load profile, the duration of the concession and the desired EOL capacity. Ebusco’s warranty can extend to 80% of remaining capacity, if that is required. We make an optimal proposition for each case, so that we relieve our customers of all concerns as regards batteries.

Because total control of batteries is a major factor in the TCO.

Battery Technology

We strongly believe that LFP technology is the best there is in the market. The fact that most of the world’s electric buses (99% of which are operating in China) make use of this technology is sufficient testimony. This technology is also renowned for its very high level of safety. Ebusco truly believes in this technology and is continuously improving and developing it.

Ebusco works with one of the world’s biggest battery makers, together with which we deliver batteries with a high energy-to-weight ratio. This also gives them a longer useful life and enables us to give battery warranties. Furthermore we have carried out extensive tests of chassis strength calculations. The combination of the latest battery technology and an optimal bus design therefore leads to extensive range and sufficient passenger capacity.

Highlights:

  • LFP technology (Lithium, iron, phosphate)
  • Safe, Robust, Best energy density (pack weight), Cobalt-free
  • Excellent production circumstances
  • Top class materials (manufacturer owns its own mines)
  • Peak energy density (150Wh/kg)
  • Capacity >350 kWh (optional >400 kWh) (our 12 meter buses) and >500 kWh (our 18 meter buses)
