Mirror Solutions for Commercial Vehicles

Our sturdy and rugged MEKRA LANG mirror systems offer effective indirect vision all around the vehicle. It is our goal to provide indirect visibility in those areas around a vehicle which the driver cannot see directly by using a specific arrangement, orientation and type of mirror system for each vehicle.

MEKRA Lang mirror systems are always one step ahead of the competition. In developing our mirror systems, we put field-of-vision analysis, simulation and optimization front and center. Regardless whether it is an integrated mirror, a mirror developed according to your own specifications or a MEKRA Lang standard mirror, we provide a safe driver environment with excellent ergonomics, while ensuring compliance with all of the relevant legal requirements.

Mirror Systems for Buses

MEKRA Lang mirror systems for buses provide excellent visibility and enhanced safety as well as an attractive design and unparalleled functionality. Using various options, combinations and add-ons, vehicles can be customized to meet a wide range of requirements, including country-specific regulations.

Electronic accessories, such as cameras, entry lights, in-mirror park assist indicators and powered folding mirrors, offer superior ergonomics for the driver and comfort and convenience for the passengers.

Mirror Replacement Systems

VISION 4.0 – Better Fuel Economy Due to Improved Aerodynamics as Well as Improved Night Vision

We provide the next generation of vision systems. A completely new HDR camera monitor system suitable for automotive applications improves the cost effectiveness of vehicles. Optimized aerodynamics result in significant reductions in fuel consumption and improved fuel efficiency. The system provides excellent ergonomics and decidedly improved night vision. It is significantly less susceptible to soiling and offers numerous additional functions, including automatic trailer tracking, manual field-of-vision settings and signal-controlled symbol displays (overlays).

For Buses

The VISION 4.0 system was developed with clear goals in mind. It replaces the traditional main mirror and creates significant added value for vehicle operators and drivers. Additionally, its very compact design helps to reduce the vehicle’s front surface.

We are unlocking the potential of the digital world to assist the driver through ergonomic solutions.

  • Variable Views – The required fields of vision can be presented to the driver in the traditional configuration or merged as panoramic view.
  • Trailer Tracking – Automatic tracking keeps the driver in control on curvy roads.
  • Digital Assistance – Overlays provide the driver with additional assistance when changing lanes or performing docking manoeuvres.
  • Hybrid Solution – For markets in which a full substitution of the main mirror is not yet permissible, we are able to offer a special hybrid solution.

Substituting Close-Proximity Mirrors

We have supplied our customers with mirror substitution systems for close-proximity applications for many years. Our analog systems meet all applicable legal requirements and can be installed as mirror substitutes. Our platform camera can be used as mirror substitute as well.

Depending on where the camera and the monitor are installed, various solutions can be implemented.

Camera Monitor Systems

Improved Safety and Efficiency

As a specialist for all-around visibility solutions, it is our task to perfectly integrate mirrors, cameras and monitors in one system.

MEKRA camera monitor systems are groundbreaking, innovative and versatile solutions for front, side or rear view applications – individually or in combination. Thanks to their rugged design and excellent synergy, they are particularly well suited for rough environmental conditions.

Cameras

Our camera is based on a high-quality, modular development platform which enables us to offer camera solutions which are perfectly tailored to our customers’ specific needs and wishes.

Our camera is uniquely suited for use in agricultural machines and construction equipment, forklifts, buses, recreational vehicles, light commercial vehicles, trucks as well as fire trucks and municipal vehicles. Thanks to the camera’s modular design, it can be quickly and inexpensively adapted to the respective vehicle type.

Monitors

Our camera monitor systems will increase your efficiency and safety at work. A properly installed system with all components securely attached can help minimize property damage and prevent personal injuries. It also comes with significant ergonomic advantages and better comfort.

Its rugged design withstands even the most extreme conditions. Its range of global applications is virtually unlimited.

Radar Sensor

Additional areas around the machine are monitored by radar sensors. They alert the machine operator through visual and audible alarms when there are objects or persons in the way. Alarm tone frequency as well as visual indicators let the operator know how far away the object is. When combined with a camera system, the driver can assess the situation in one glance at the monitor.

For many years we have partnered with PRECO Electronics to offer our customers their highly successful sensors for construction equipment. The range of these sensors encompasses all relevant close-proximity and long-distance areas. Standard detection ranges are three, four and a half, six and ten meters. For special applications, up to 30 meters are possible as well.

Electronic Accessories

MEKRA Lang offers a wide variety of additional equipment options for our cameras and monitors. Our accessories include cables, adapters, fasteners for cameras and monitors, as well as cleaning and night vision assist functions. Our electronic accessories are particularly well-suited for rough environmental conditions.

Should you not find what you are looking for in our standard portfolio, we will be happy to develop a solution that is perfectly tailored to your specific needs.
