Solaris Bus & Coach has secured a contract with Keolis Sverige, one of Sweden’s leading transport operators, to deliver 46 battery-electric buses for the Dalarna region.
The order includes 19 Solaris Urbino 12 electric buses and 27 Solaris Urbino 15 LE electric models, with phased deliveries beginning in 2025.

The 15-metre Solaris Urbino 15 LE Electric buses will be deployed first, entering service in 2025. Then, the 12-metre Solaris Urbino 12 Electric models, designed for urban routes, will follow in 2026.
The 15-metre mode can carry up to 72 passengers. These units will be equipped with three-point seatbelts for enhanced safety on longer routes.
They will have High Energy batteries with a total capacity of 700 kWh for an extended range. What’s more, they will feature collision avoidance systems, driver fatigue monitoring, and camera-based mirror systems.
Meanwhile, the Urbino 12 Electric can transport up to 61 passengers. They will leverage High Energy batteries with a total capacity of 600 kWh, enabling full-day operation under urban conditions.
The design also includes a 240 kW traction motor with modular components located on the roof and rear to maximise passenger space.
Both models will have air-conditioning, USB charging ports, ticket machines with card payment terminals, and advanced monitoring systems to enhance passenger convenience and safety.
Sverre Skaar, CEO of Solaris Sverige AB said:Keolis' order of 46 electric buses is a significant step in sustainable mobility solutions in Sweden. We are pleased to implement zero-emission solutions in both city centers and suburban transportation, as we believe this is essential for the global transformation of transport.
